Draft prospects shine for Claremont yet again

Railways junior Jordan Clark has helped Claremont claim a thrilling eight-point win over Peel Thunder in the WAFL competition on Saturday afternoon.

Clark, a member of the WA State 18s team, was playing his second league game and impressed once again kicking his first goal to go with 13 possessions and five marks across half back.

Albany product Dylan Smallwood played a pivotal role in the Tigers’ win, gathering 16 touches including seven marks.

Former Royals junior Steven Edwards was named in the best for South Fremantle as they claimed a 78-point win over Perth.

Albany and Royals product Tyron Smallwood continues to push his claims for a league debut after being named an emergency this week. He kicked three goals and had 14 touches and five marks.

Lewis Davis, from Borden, was named in Claremont’s reserves best after kicking three goals from eight disposals and eight hit-outs.

Railways junior Bailey Bennett, North Albany product Addison Dew and Royals’ Declan McNamara all gathered 15 touches to help the Tigers reserves side claim a 30-point win.

Ongerup-bred product Angus Litherland kicked a goal in Subiaco’s 91-point win over East Fremantle to go with 12 disposals.

In AFL news, ex-North Albany product Mitch McGovern’s two goals helped the Adelaide Crows win a thriller on Sunday afternoon North Melbourne. North Albany junior Marley Williams was named in the Kangaroos best in the loss.

Ex-North Albany tall Jeremy McGovern couldn’t help West Coast Eagles win on the weekend despite his six marks and 13 touches.

Darcy Cameron, who also comes from North Albany, continues to push his claims for a senior spot finishing with 22 touches in Sydney’s big win over the GWS Giants in the NEAFL.
