Denmark police investigating after woman and three children injured after LandCruiser rolls several times

A woman has suffered serious injuries and three children were taken to hospital after the car they were in rolled on South Coast Highway near William Bay on Wednesday afternoon. The single vehicle rollover happened about 4pm, with emergency services rushing to the scene in William Bay, west of Denmark, in the Great Southern region. Police say a Toyota LandCrusier was travelling east on South Coast Highway, near McLeod Road, when it left the road before rolling several times. The vehicle crashed through a fence and eventually came to a rest in a nearby paddock with a woman and three children inside. The three children were able to get out of the crashed car but the driver was trapped. Volunteer firefighters from Walpole and Denmark attended, cutting the woman from the car. A St John WA spokeswoman confirmed all four occupants of the vehicle were transported to hospital. The 30-year-old woman suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken under lights and sirens to Albany Health Campus for treatment. The children, two boys and one girl, had minor injuries and were taken under normal road conditions to Denmark Health Service. The wrecked LandCrusier was towed from the scene on Thursday. Denmark police say investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the crash.
