Albany is set for a mild 19 degrees on Christmas Day with a chance or rain.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a partly cloudy day Sunday with a 20 per cent chance of rain.

Albany Surf Life Saving club volunteers will give up their Christmas to patrol Middleton Beach and are bracing for a busy day with hundreds expected to hit the beach despite cooler conditions.
