The community of Peaceful Bay is set to benefit from the review of the Strategic Community Plan, receiving a $75,000 slice of the 2023-24 budget for new public amenities and fish-cleaning facilities.

The community will benefit from the $75,000 set aside for the two projects in the 2023-24 Shire of Denmark budget.

Long asked for by the Peaceful Bay community, they’re now set to benefit from improved public toilet facilities.

The area has seen increasing impacts on the environment as a result of high levels of visitation to the pristine beach.

New fish-cleaning facilities will also be set up as part of the funding.

Denmark Shire president Ceinwen Gearon said she was glad to see the two projects approved following the requests and feedback given as part of the Strategic Community Plan review.

“Our community members in Peaceful Bay were strong contributors to our Strategic Community Plan major review engagement, making their voices clearly heard about what matters most to them,” she said.

“These may not be major capital works, but from what we’ve heard through the engagement process, the addition of a new fish-cleaning facility and better public toilet provision will make a positive difference to the area.

“We look forward to sharing more on the time line of these projects in the coming months.”
