Collingwood Park’s Dash Germinario and Mt Barker’s Lucas Baker selected for WA under-15 country cricket side
Two emerging Great Southern cricketers have been selected for the under-15 WA Country team after shining at the WACA Under-15 Regional Development Carnival last month.
Dash Germinario and Lucas Baker, who play for Collingwood Park and Mt Barker respectively in the Albany and Districts Cricket Association, were both selected for the side and will play against two WA Premier Cricket sides in November and December.
The best few players from the team will then be selected to join metro-based players for a spot at the State Talent Carnival in January.
The pair played for WA Red at the regional development carnival held in Bunbury on September 25 and 26.
Germinario finished the carnival as the competition’s leading run-scorer while Baker was the joint leading wicket-taker.
Baker took 2-23 from his six overs in the first one-day match before snaring 1-20 from four overs in the T20.
Batting No.3 in the one-day match, Germinario smashed 64 runs from 84 deliveries with nine fours.
He then backed up his stellar effort with the bat by taking 2-28 from five overs.
Germinario continued his good form with the bat in the T20, belting an unbeaten 17 from six balls, including two fours and one six, to finish his side’s batting innings in style.
He then kept in the bowling innings and took a catch and had an assisted run-out.
