Celebration of motoring eras on city streets

Albany’s city centre was again transformed into a race track with the sounds and smells of motor racing returning.

The annual Albany Classic drew thousands to the event on Sunday, with a fields of classic and historic cars put through their paces around the street circuit, which included sections of York Street and Aberdeen Street.

The cars were a mix of eras including vintage open-wheelers, muscle cars and sleek European classics.

The classic was born from the original Round the Houses racing, which dates back to the pre and post World War II era.
