The Roy Rogers-trained gelding was far too strong for his rivals in the Vale Spanner/Manley Handicap (1230m) at Percy Spencer Racecourse.

Kohli ($2.50) just shaded Sneaky Fox ($2.80) as favourite in the field of nine but it was the latter who got the upper hand in the home straight.

Jockey Chris Nicoll sent Sneaky Fox forward from barrier two and despite challenges from Kohli and Morgs Freeman they recorded a strong win in the end.

Sneaky Fox skipped clear late in the race to win by more than a length, Kohli running a clear second while outside Morgs Freeman filled third place.

It has been a sensational campaign for Sneaky Fox with five wins and five minor placings from 12 starts in the Great Southern this season.

The five-year-old has now won eight of his 31 career starts and earned more than $150,000 in prizemoney.

Sneaky Fox is clear in the horse of the year standings with five wins, one ahead of stablemate God’s Moment while Brave Contender, Elite Fighter and Rocapozzene all have three wins respectively.

Albany trainer Jonathon Jachmann also had success at the Albany cup meeting, with Aramat and Rock Of Kaha giving him a double.

Aramat broke her maiden status at her 31st start, getting over the top of Looks in the dying stages to win by a half-head.

Rock Of Kaha ($4.40) stormed home from near last on the corner to claim the Support Your Local W&R Team Albany Handicap (1500m) with apprentice Austin Galati in the saddle.
