Brigade hopes for community support

The community can give thanks to the tireless work of volunteer firefighters this Sunday by supporting the Kalgan Volunteer Bushfire Brigade open day.

The brigade’s annual fundraising effort as part of Red Balloon Day will give the community an opportunity to meet the firefighters who are attempting to raise much needed funds for a new fast fill trailer.

The trailer, which will cost about $25,000 to build, will enhance fire suppression efforts in areas where there is no available water source.

Market stalls, sausage sizzles, live music and a bouncy castle will be at the open day which will run from 10am to 4pm at Bridge Park, Nanarup Rd Kalgan.
