Two hikers who braved the cold at Bluff Knoll this morning were rewarded with a winter wonderland when they reached the summit.

Hannah Loynes and Issac Daw set off early this morning and captured these amazing photos at the peak.

Ms Loynes said it was the first time she had seen snow on Bluff Knoll.

“We’ve been up Bluff Knoll heaps of times but have never seen snow up there,” she said.

“It was really cool to see that much.”

“It was really good timing. We had just come back from Perth and we thought we would climb it this weekend anyway, we saw on the Albany Advertiser face-book page there was a chance of snow so we thought we would head up.”

She said there was a decent covering of snow on the peak.

“There was at least a good inch or two of snow, it was awesome,” she said.

“The snowman only took us about five minutes to make.”

Temperatures dipped to 3.2C at the North Stirling weather station at 6.15am.

The last time the mountain was dusted with snow was April.

Albany also turned white this morning as a hailstorm hit the region overnight.
