Great Southern’s top tourism operators were recognised for their excellence at the 2018 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner at Crown Perth last Saturday.

The Beach House at Bayside in Albany was the gold winner in the hosted accommodation category for the third year in a row this year.

Meanwhile, The Lake House at Denmark received two silver medals in the tourism restaurants, and catering services and excellence in food tourism categories.

Albany Busy Blue Bus also received another award this year, a silver medal in the major tour and transport operators division.

Tourism Council WA chief executive Evan Hall said the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards attracted entries from tourism businesses from across WA.

“Each and every year, the judges are impressed by the commitment to continuous innovation and improvement displayed by entrants — a testament to the great work being done by tourism operators, big and small,” he said.

The gold medallists will go on to represent Western Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, being held in Launceston on March 1.
