This property in Ongerup could be one of the cheapest houses for sale in the Great Southern in recent years.

For just $47,500 you can secure a property in Ongerup with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

Albany REIWA chairman Barry Panizza said the house at 10 Lamont Street was a great opportunity for someone who wanted to live in a small regional town.

“The property looks like a reasonable home, the fact that it is in a rural WA town is probably what makes it cheap,” Mr Panizza said.

“There are less people living in those areas every year and a lot of the farms in the area are taken over by corporates so the workers end up living in houses on farms instead of in the small town.
