On Saturday night, drag queen BarbieQ’s Dolly Parton Backwoods Barbie drag spectacular rocked the roof off the town hall, much to the delight of Albany Pride and local community members.

Doors opened early for attendees to socialise over drinks and photos with DJ Amber keeping the mood lively.

Drag queen BarbieQ in full Dolly Parton-inspired attire, opened the show with Backwoods Barbie, accompanied by four backup dancers dressed in 1950s American greaser attire.

The show also included performances of some of Parton’s other popular works including Jolene, I Will Always Love You and the popular 9 to 5.

Other drag queens had their own shot in the spotlight through the show, keeping the filled town hall entertained during costume changes between songs.
