Annual Mueller Street Christmas lights show cancelled for 2023

Albany’s famous Mueller Street Christmas lights display has been cancelled this year after four years of fundraising and awareness raising for Cystic Fibrosis WA.

The lights have been a regular feature of the festive season for the last four years, continuing a tradition they started in support of the couple’s granddaughter who has cystic fibrosis, and after she missed Christmas due to being in hospital..

Their 2022 light display included approximately 450,000 bulbs laid out in a festive array and 5000 illuminated roses for the children and families affected by cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease that effects the lungs and digestive system, requiring ongoing and lifelong treatment.

“Thank you for the volunteer efforts over the last four years,” Ms Stevenson said.

The couple have raised and donated more than $200,000 for the life-threatening genetic disease over the last four years for CFWA.
