ANA 2023: Albany Netball Association celebrates rich Indigenous heritage in NAIDOC Round

Albany Netball Association celebrated their proud Indigenous legacy with a special acknowledgement of country as part of the NAIDOC Round on Saturday.

Indigenous players from participating clubs came together before the Bullets 1 and Griffins 1 A1 fixture in front of a healthy crowd at Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Narrikup player Courtney White provided an acknowledgement of country with Magpies’ Tiannah Dixon also offering a speech.

There were plenty of smiling faces donned with dot face painting with players, parents, staff and fans alike all getting involved in the pre-game festivities.

Teams and players across the round wore specially designed NAIDOC bibs on their uniforms and NAIDOC balls were also used in matches.
