Alert for Robinson bushfire

Firefighters are attempting to contain a small bushfire which started this afternoon west of Albany.

A bushfire advice has been issued for residents in parts of suburbs of Robinson, Gledhow, Lockyer and Mt Ephinstone after the fire began near the intersection of Sand Pit Road and Tweedle Road in Robinson after being reported about 1pm.

Fifteen local brigade firefighters are attempting to contain the stationary bushfire which has burnt three hectares but currently poses no risk to lives and homes.

Roads have not been closed but motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke. The City of Albany is managing the fire.
