Albany’s Anzac Day 2022 arrangements to be finalised this week after public health restrictions eased

Albany’s Anzac Day plans will be finalised this week after public health restrictions, including outdoor crowd caps, were wound back across WA on Thursday.

Anzac Day planning was in limbo across WA last month, when it was unclear whether the State’s Level 2 COVID restrictions would still be in place on April 25, including a 500-person cap on public outdoor events.

Restrictions have since been eased, with no crowd caps on outdoor venues and entertainment venues allowed to operate at 75 per cent seated capacity.

Perth’s Anzac Day Parade through the CBD is back on with social distancing, but the Kings Park dawn service will remain invitation-only for up to 500 veterans.

Albany RSL service director Michael Tugwell said final details for Albany events, including ticketing requirements, would be announced in Thursday’s Advertiser.

“The intent is that all...outlets on Thursday will have details regarding the public acquisition of Anzac dawn service tickets, either for the Mt Clarence service or the live stream relay to the Albany Entertainment Centre,” he said.

“The service will also be live streamed to the large screen at the Anzac Peace Park, but tickets won’t be required for this venue.”
