Albany police searching for three males after allegedly assaulting two teenagers egging cars in Spencer Park

Two teenagers who were allegedly egging passing cars on a main road in Spencer Park on Friday, have been chased by a group of men and one seriously assaulted as a result. Albany police have issued a call for help after two 18-year-old males egged passing cars near Collingwood Road on November 24. The alleged assault occurred between 10pm and 11pm on the corner of Collingwood Road and Warden Avenue. Police say two male passengers exited a black Mazda 3 hatchback which had stopped nearby, proceeding to chase the two young males throwing eggs. One male who was being chased suffered minor facial injuries and was then placed in a headlock before losing consciousness. Personal belongings were also allegedly stolen from the assaulted teenager. The driver of the hatchback allegedly drove at the second male accused of egg throwing and a witness who were forced to take evasive action to avoid the vehicle. The same driver attempted to reverse and collided with one of the male passengers from his car. The Mazda left the scene after the two male passengers returned to the vehicle. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Albany police have said they are investigating the unusual incident. “We acknowledge that the behaviour of the two egg throwers is criminal in itself, however this does not excuse the actions of the other parties involved,” the statement said. “Police are committed to investigating the entire incident and ensuring all parties are held to account.” Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the people involved to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Albany police on 9892 9300.
