Albany hosts school cup involving talented young players from regional and metropolitan WA

State soccer players from Perth and the best talent in the Great Southern have come together to compete in the State School Cup of 2021 in Albany this week.

A three-day competition held at the Centennial Sporting Precinct, has placed some of the best underage soccer talent in WA on the same pitch.

The under-12 State Schoolboys gold and white teams made the trip south along with the under-12 State Schoolgirls’ gold and black teams.

They came up against a girls Football West Talent Support Program team and a team from the Great Southern Development Program.

The cup began on Tuesday and games were played on Wednesday before the final matches were contested on Thursday.

Teams played between 10am and noon and then between 6pm and 8pm on each day of competition.
