Albany 8 Ball Association Ladies Open Singles Competition hailed a success

The Dawn Wellman Albany 8 Ball Association Ladies Open Singles competition attracted a strong field.

The round robin tournament played out 66 frames over the day, with thrilling action headlining the event.

The winners circle pulled ahead and led the way with dominance in the final stages but the good sportsmanship, laughs and support were plentiful.

Bev Mableson proved too strong in the end, with 15 wins from 16 frames, to finish with a 93.75 win percentage.

Deb Duvall (13 wins from 16 frames) and Amber Marsh (10 wins from 16 frames) rounded out the top three with win percentages of 81.25 and 62.50.

Bianca Drage recorded nine wins from 16 frames (56.25 per cent) and Dawn Wellman had four wins from 10 frames (40 per cent), finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Katie Sweetnam (six wins from 16 frames), Rebecca Zand-Vakily (five wins from 14 frames), Courtney Pyle (three wins from 14 frames) and Kelsey Wedner (one win from 14 frames) made up the rest of the nine competitors.
