Fremantle have bowed out of the premiership race in the AFLW competition, losing their preliminary final to Carlton by 36 points at Ikon Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Dockers, with Denmark’s Parris Laurie in their side, trailed by only four points at quarter-time but failed to kick a goal in the second term as the Blues took hold.

A number of Dockers players were hampered by injury in the contest and the Blues took full advantage as they ran out winners, 9.10 (64) to 4.4 (28), to end the visitors’ season.

Laurie was again used in the ruck, where she has been solid all season for the Dockers, collecting eight disposals, one mark and laying two tackles in the final.

The 24-year-old in her debut AFLW season finished averaging 10 disposals per game at 72 per cent efficiency as a mobile ruck.

The Blues will face Adelaide for the premiership trophy on Sunday.
