$100 RFDS raffle takes off
Albany man Don Perfrement is getting the finishing touches in place for this Sunday’s $100 Christmas raffle as the Albany community raise plenty of funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
On Wednesday, a total of 280 of the 300 tickets on offer had been snapped up for the raffle, which has $10,000 in cash prizes up for grabs. Mr Perfrement hoped the remaining 20 tickets would be sold before the sundowner raffle at Centennial Stadium on Sunday.
With $10,000 in prize money, including a $5000 first prize, the remaining $20,000 plus money collected from raffles at the event will go to RFDS.
Any remaining tickets will be available to purchase on Sunday at Centennial Stadium, with the draw held at 3pm.
Mr Perfrement said the event received fantastic local support. “The response by the comm-unity has been huge,” he said.
“Just with people buying tickets, the support has been amazing; $100 is a big ask just for a ticket.”
The event has been well supported through raffle donations from local wineries and other businesses.
