Horse racing lovers and gamblers from around Perth descended on venues across the city hoping to win big at the Melbourne Cup.

From Mullaloo Beach Hotel to The Shorehouse and Ascot Racecourse, thousands of punters dressed to impress and got among the action live-streamed from Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday.

From simple but stunning cocktail dresses to extravagant fascinators and millinery, Perth’s fashionistas turned up to turn heads.
