Did you know that October is WA Bike Month? There are “wheely” great events happening all over the state. So, on your bike! Ride to school! The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is hosting a free community event as part of WA Bike Month. On Friday October 13, school students in the shire will be encouraged to ride their bikes to school. Kids must take their bikes and helmets to Briggs Park in Byford between 7am and 9am for a free breakfast and bike service by Bike Dr. · Participants must be registered by visiting events.humanitix.com/wa-bike-month-ride-to-school-in-byford/tickets · Briggs Park, Byford Get bike ready Get yourself – and your bike – bike ready in these special workshops run by trained cycling instructors through the City of Stirling and WestCycle. Learn riding safety theory, take part in a practical bike maintenance workshop, and join a guided group ride along the Moorland Street Safe Active Street. Head to Perry Lakes Drive in Floreat for a hilarious Pancakes and Poker Bike Relay. Presented by CycleSense, this fun free bike relay encourages teams of two to four riders to complete a timed ride around the Perry Lakes Reserve circuit. Each rider receives a playing card after each lap to make up a full team poker hand at the finish.
